S,D&G - Ontario Provincial Police have called off their search for the occupants of a vessel found drifting in the St. Lawrence River last week.
The S,D&G OPP have called off their search for information on the identity of the occupant(s) of a mysterious drifting vessel found near the Quebec/Ontario border on Oct. 7.
The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP detachment said the "search is no longer underway."
"We're no longer looking for anybody and the search is called off," said OPP Sgt. Dave Budzinski.
OPP were unable to confirm if the investigation is still ongoing.
The vessel, described as approximately 20ft. in length, white fiberglass with a picture of a fish on the side, was discovered on Oct. 7, at approximately 7:50 p.m. Police had responded to a call for assistance, when a passing vessel heard a distress call near the Quebec/Ontario border.
