Restaurant disturbance leads to assault on cop

CORNWALL, Ontario –A Cornwall woman was arrested for allegedly making a scene at a local eatery and later assaulting a police officer.

A 44-year-old Cornwall woman allegedly kicked an officer after getting arrested for being intoxicated in public at a local restaurant on Dec. 11.

Police arrived at a Brookdale Avenue restaurant following a disturbance call on Dec. 11 and arrested Chantal Turcotte, 44, for being intoxicated in a public place.

Police took her into custody and during the booking process she allegedly kicked an officer in the leg.

Turcotte is charged with assaulting police and failing to keep the peace. She was held for a bail hearing.
