CORNWALL, Ontario - Would-be smugglers have been keeping the Cornwall Regional Task Force (CRTF) in action with a large amount of illegal cigarette and drug seizures near city shorelines and the port of entry.

The CRTF released a report detailing a long list of criminal activity in the area over the last few months. The following is a compilation of the various contraband cigarettes, drugs and cash seized:
On Dec. 11, during a patrol in South Glengarry, CRTF seized 30 cases of contraband cigarettes scattered along the shoreline.
On Dec. 10, two cases of contraband cigarettes and 20 oxycodone pills seized at the Cornwall’s Port of Entry (POE).
On Nov. 21, four kilograms of marijuana and $980 seized at the Cornwall Marina.
On Nov. 18, 100 cases of contraband cigarettes and a 2010 Orca Pro boat with a 300-hp Evinrude motor seized in the South Glengarry area by the shoreline.
On Nov. 12, 2.5 kilograms of marijuana and $13,000 seized in the South Glengarry area.
On Nov. 1, 73 cartons of contraband cigarettes seized after receiving an anonymous complaint that contraband cases of cigarettes were being moved from one vehicle to another in Cornwall.
