Chuck Charlebois, president of Groupe Renaissance Group, speaks with a supporter at a protest against waterfront tanks..
CORNWALL, Ontario - Groupe Renaissance Group chairperson Chuck Charlebois will attend a high-profile meeting next week to discuss the future of a waterfront tank project in Cornwall.
Charlebois said in an e-mail he has received confirmation he will sit in on a meeting between the city, federal government and Trillium Distribution, the company building the calcium chloride tanks, next Tuesday.
"Our MP, Guy Lauzon, called to inform me that Transport Canada will invite me to attend the special meeting with the parties involved next week," said Charlebois.
While Charlebois has yet to receive the official invitation, he said Friday afternoon he is enthusiastic about getting a couple of opportunities next week to address the issue.
He will speak before city council Monday evening on the tank issue, before going behind closed door a day later for the meeting with the other parties.
"We have two great opportunities to make our case," he said.
