You don't want to end up like this poor devil - stay safe on the ice.

CORNWALL, Ontario - With above normal temperatures the Cornwall Community Police Service would like to remind the residents of Cornwall who are venturing onto the ice for activities such as ice fishing or skating to do so with caution.

The ice might appear solid, however may not be as thick as you would think. If you are going to venture onto the ice remember these guidelines:

15cm for one person skating

20cm for group skating

25cm for snowmobiles

35cm for ice fishing huts

Also remember clear blue ice is usually the strongest ice, while white frosty ice could be twice as thin.
