CORNWALL, Ontario - Well, it was fun while it lasted. The milder winter temperatures we've enjoyed over the last couple of weeks will officially come to an end today.
Environment Canada has issued a windchill warning for the Cornwall area, as it is expected to feel as low as minus 35 degrees tonight.
An arctic air mass has settled over southern Ontario. The combination of cold temperatures and moderate northwesterly winds is expected to produce frigid temperature values.
Areas east of a line from Port Carling through Haliburton and Kaladar to Brockville - Leeds and Grenville and Cornwall will see the worst of it.
The colder temperatures will be with us for most of this week, with a brief respite to come on the weekend before the mercury plunges again next week.
