Ontario’s public colleges are experiencing an upward trend of enrollment in first-year, full-time programs. This year, colleges province-wide hit their highest levels with a five-percent increase. SLC experienced a seven per cent rise over the same period of time.
Cornwall's SLC did even better with a rate of 7.4 per cent.
Over 1,130 students enrolled in full-time programs at the newly renovated SLC Cornwall campus, which sits nestled on the shore of the St. Lawrence River.
SLC as a whole also has very strong enrollment numbers this year boasting 6,416 students.
The province recently released Key Performance Indicators reporting that nearly 84 per cent of Ontario college graduates found work within six months of graduation.
At 90.5 per cent, SLC is the top ranking Ontario college for graduate employment.
"Our students are getting a job upon six months of graduation," said Glenn Vollebregt, President and CEO of SLC. "They are getting jobs because of the hands-on real-world learning environment that SLC provides."
