South Glengarry traffic stop nets mini-drug buffet

CORNWALL, Ontario - A small mix of hard drugs were seized by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) at a traffic stop in South Glengarry.

OPP Long Sault Highway Safety Division (HSD)officers inspected a commercial motor vehicle on County Road 2, Saturday afternoon, which led to the arrests of two Boisbriand, Quebec, residents.

Police allege 34-year-old Mathieu Belanger and 36-year-old passenger Catherine Villeneuve were in possesion of small amounts of marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine pills. Both are facing multiple possesion charges.

Ministry of Transportation (MTO) officers were credited for aiding in the arrests.

They are scheduled to appear in Alexandria court in April.
