Six-time Olympic medallist will stop in Cornwall on cross-Canada cycling trip

CORNWALL, Ontario - A six-time Olympic medalist will be stopping at a Cornwall high school later this month to promote mental health awareness.

Clara Hughes, who has won Olympic medals six times for cycling a speed skating, will be at Holy Trinity Second School March 25 from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.

Hughes is cycling some 12,000 km across Canada to draw awareness to the plight of those suffering with mental illness.

Holy Trinity’s leadership class, led by Hailey Dickson and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario, is organizing and co-ordinating the local event.

There will be events being held at Holy Trinity for everyone who takes part in the occasion. There will be a free dinner, free FISH performance with musical guests Jimmy Malyon, Grant Winchester, and Bruce Ciccarelli, zumba classes, yoga classes, volleyball, and other fun events.

Hughes will also make a stop in Akwesasne that day.
