Driver injured in single-vehicle crash

CORNWALL, Ontario – A driver was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in South Glengarry yesterday morning.

A 54-year-old male driver (from Saint–Amable, Quebec) sustained serious injuries when he lost control of his tractor trailer and jack-knifed in the eastbound lanes.

He was transported to the Cornwall hospital.

Ontario Provincial Police SD&G officers closed off a section of Highway 401 between Lancaster and Curry Hill (eastbound) as emergency crews attended to the scene.

The lanes have since re-opened.
