CORNWALL, Ontario - An annual rite of spring is just a few weeks away.

Despite the frigid temperatures and snow dumped on Cornwall from the winter that won't quit, the Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce is putting the finishing touches to its 2014 Spring Home and Leisure Show.

The annual spring event takes place April 4-6 at the Cornwall Civic Complex.

Lezlie Strasser, executive manager at the chamber, said the theme of the show this year is "come in to the outdoors" which is reflected in the items being showcased at the event.

"There's so many new products and services that are available," she said. "It's like you can go from the front door of your home right through to the outside."

The show will feature dozens of local entrepreneurs and business people strutting their stuff, and popular City Central, with representation from a slew of departments at city hall, returns as well.

There will also be a Family Fun Zone, with activities for the whole family.
