CORNWALL, Ontario - Pastor Kevin Ramsby will be the Guest Speaker at the Children’s Treatment Centre Bike-A-Thon Plus Kick-Off Breakfast on Wednesday, May 7th at the Cornwall Civic Complex. The topic of his address will be on forgiveness.
Pastor Kevin Ramsby.
In the Summer of 2009, Pastor Kevin Ramsby was awakened to the sound of breaking glass in his home at 3:00 a.m. Rushing to investigate the noise, he was met on the stairs by an intruder.
Engaging with the unknown man in his home, Pastor Kevin was stabbed a total of 37 times. With all the wounds he suffered, to the neck, back, head, abdomen, and hands, not a single vital organ was struck.
Thinking he was dead, the intruder left Pastor Kevin on the floor as he explored the home for valuables. Pastor Kevin regained consciousness praying what he thought would be his last prayer...for his wife and his children.
After laying, waiting to die, he was moved by four simple words - “THEY STILL NEED YOU!”
Hearing these words, with the intruder on the second floor, Pastor Kevin got up, went out a side door, and made it to a neighbour’s house who called 911. Upon the police arriving and finding Pastor Kevin on the ground, it was reported that the officers could not identify what race he was.
Miraculously, from where Pastor Kevin had laid unconscious in a large pool of blood in his kitchen to being found 100% covered in blood on his neighbor’s porch...there was NO evidence of footprints or drops of blood found between the two locations.
Pastor Kevin was rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate surgery. After 5 long months of physical rehabilitation and 9 months of emotional, spiritual and mental recovery, Pastor Kevin experienced healing and victory over depression, thoughts of suicide, fear and anger through the power of Jesus Christ and His promises found in His Word - the Bible.
Through the power of forgiveness, Pastor Kevin has since reached out to his attacker, communicates with him while he is serving his lengthy sentence, and has begun sharing his journey of spiritual, emotional and physical healing.
Against the recommendation of friends, family and counselors; Pastor Kevin and his family chose to return to the city he loves and pastors Revival Tabernacle Church while developing a community outreach organization called Hope Village Detroit.
Breakfast will be served from 6:00 a.m. to 7:15 a.m., followed by the Guest Speaker’s address on forgiveness at 7:30 a.m. For further information, please call the Children’s Treatment Centre at # 613-933-4400.
