CORNWALL, Ontario - Glengarry Highlands Games officials have announced that Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy will be the headline act of the 67th annual Games Tattoo on Friday, Aug 1.
Since getting married in 2002, the two have been combining their musical experience. They promise audiences a great experience with every performance.
MacMaster has been playing music since the age of nine, when she received her first fiddle. She released her first record at the age of 16 and has since then gone on to create many albums and win many awards.
The Cape Breton native is the winner of two Juno awards. Both were under that best instrumental album category.
Leahy has been the front-man of Leahy, a band featuring him and his seven brothers and sisters, for over fifteen years. Leahy has found his own style through his many years of playing. It’s regarded as high-energy and mesmerizing to all audiences.
The group has also won many awards as well, including Junos for best new group, best country group, and best instrumental album.
Entrance to the event is part of a ticket to the Games. Grandstand seats are limited though. Tickets will be on sale online on May 15.
