CORNWALL, Ontario – The Spring Home & Leisure Show is taking place at the civic complex, promising all guests the opportunity to prepare for the long-awaited spring.

The event begins at 4 p.m. Friday and will continue until 9 p.m. The event also goes throughout the weekend. On Saturday the hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday’s event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“It’s come in to the outdoors,” said Cornwall Chamber of Commerce executive manager Lezlie Strasser. “We’re still in winter but we’re ready to launch the products that we’re going to need for the summer. It’s got a real nice balance and should be of interest to people.”

Guests have the opportunity to meet the ‘go-to’ guys who are experts on all the things you need to know about spring.

“Who better to go to than the local experts from around the area?” said Strasser. “You can ask them ‘what do I need?’ and other options you can think of.”

There will also be a Family Fun Zone ran by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cornwall and District where there will be fun activities for children such as building a bird feeder.

There is also the opportunity for guests to win a $1,000 exhibitor shopping spree as well as an Octane Elliptical from St. Lawrence Pools.

Tickets for the event are $5 for one day. Seniors and students are $4 while children under the age of 12 get in free as long as they’re accompanied by an adult.

“It’s everything about spring,” said Strasser. “Decorating, air conditioning, pools, patios, everything people need.”
