CORNWALL, Ontario - The United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry is looking to rid an unwanted pest from several county roads in the upcoming weeks.
The United Counties of SD&G County Administration Building at 26 Pitt Street in Cornwall.
The counties roads department will be spraying noxious weeds with approved herbicides to reduce their impact on the industries of agriculture and horticulture.
Depending on weather conditions, the work will begin the week of May 12 and should be completed by June 13.
“The roads that have been selected for treatment are roads with the highest weed pressures," said Ben de Haan, county engineer. “Our program targets unmaintained rural roadsides where the proliferation of these weeds can impact adjacent fields.”
Information about the program, roads which will be treated, how to erect no spray signs, and daily updates (once work starts) can be found on the County website at www.sdgcounties.ca.
