CORNWALL, Ontario - Nearly 800 young people are expected to rock the night away at the Cornwall Armoury in order to help pay for new equipment and fencing for the outdoor play space at the new Boys & Girls Club in Cornwall.

Friday’s MuchMusic Video Dance Cops and Rockers event will begin at 6:30 p.m.

“With over $199,000 already raised by our young students from grades 5 to 8 in nine previous events, I’m confident our innovative youth will once again raise the necessary funds to complete and equip the outdoor sports pad," said poliec Chief Dan Parkinson. "In addition, the funds raised allows us to maintain the Boys & Girls Club operations in Cornwall and to serve just that many more children and young people as we go forward."

The doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the dance is between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m.

Members of the public can expect traffic delays between 9:30 and 10 p.m. as parents flood the area to pick up the young rockers.

Pledge forms are still available to students from grades 5 to 8. A pledge of $25 at the door will grant young people access.
