CORNWALL, Ontario - If culture shock is a bubble, Saint Lawrence Secondary School (SLSS) is the pin.
Cultural influences from all over the world were on display at SLSS.
SLSS held its annual Multicultural Day Wednesday, May 21. Students from Grades 7 to 12 participated and over 30 countries and cultures were on display with traditional food, music, and clothing.
A highlight of the day was an exhibition of Mohawk Hoop and the Smoke Dance.
One of the guest judges, Constable Matt Dupuis, was impressed with the students’ enthusiasm and knowledge.
“As a graduate of Saint Lawrence High School, it is nice to be invited back to functions such as these and interact with the students," said Dupuis. "I had great pleasure in judging their hard work and learning about all of the different countries around the world.”
Canada Homestay International and the Upper Canada Leger Centre were proud sponsors of the event.
