CORNWALL, Ontario - A pair of young Cornwall robbers were caught by an alert resident in Cornwall and later arrested by city police.

Early Tuesday morning the duo were attempting to break into an unlocked residence near Montreal Road and McConnell Avenue.

The resident of the home became alerted to the activity and police were called. The teens fled the scene but were located by police shortly thereafter and arrested.

One of the teens was carrying a knife.

Devon Walker-Boettger, 18, faces charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, attempt break and enter, trespass by night, breach of recognizance and failing to keep the peace.

A 14-year-old youth has been charged with attempt break and enter and trespass by night.

Walker-Boettger was held for a bail hearing while the youth was released with a court date.
