CORNWALL, Ontario – Residents are invited to celebrate Canada’s birthday with a full slate of activities and entertainment in Lamoureux Park.

The waterfront park will once again serve as the venue for Cornwall’s annual Canada Day celebrations on Tuesday, July 1st, and there will be a wide variety of free events to entertain residents of all ages.

The festivities will be highlighted by a colourful fireworks display to close out the evening, beginning at approximately 10 pm.

Children’s activities will begin at 12 pm and will include shows by Little Ray’s Reptiles, the Magic and Dream Show, face painting, a talent show, a petting zoo, Bouncy City and Castles and much more. The children’s activities will run until 5 pm.

There will also be a free swim at the Aquatic Centre from 2 pm to 3:25 pm, sponsored by City Council. The swim is open on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Elsewhere in Lamoureux Park, residents can stop by the Bingo tent, which will be open from 11 am to 8 pm, or enjoy some food from a variety of vendors who will be set up for the day and evening.

As always, there will be a continuous flow of live music from the Lion’s Club Bandshell as a large line-up of local artists take the stage and share their talents. The entertainment line-up is as follows:

There will also be some entertainment in the Beer Garden in the form of karaoke from 1 pm to 3:30 pm and Spare Partz from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
