Cornwall grad receives award at Loyalist College

CORNWALL, Ontario - Loyalist College, in Belleville, has paid tribute to a Cornwall graduate.

Jamie Hitchcock, a Social Service Worker program graduate from the Seaway City, was presented with the United Way of Quinte Award by Past Board Chair Stuart Wright.

Nearly 120 awards were presented to graduates at the 47th Annual Convocation Ceremonies on June 5 and 6. The awards, with a total value of $24,550, are provided by private donors, businesses, industry associations, community organizations, and the Loyalist College Foundation.

“The awards are a wonderful way to recognize the recipients’ commitment to excellence in the classroom and in our communities,” said Loyalist President Maureen Piercy. “During their post-secondary education here they have served as College ambassadors, and as graduates, I know, they will continue to lead in their respective fields.”
