Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS) blotter update.
CORNWALL, Ontario - Things got ugly when a Cornwall man went berserk this week and threatened to kill his girlfriend's family, while also smacking her with a sandal.
Police said the 37-year-old man faces charges of making threats, three counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of mischief.
Police said on Monday the man and his girlfriend were in an argument when he struck her in the face with the sandal. If that wasn't enough, the man also pulled her hair and spat in her face.
Prior to leaving the residence the man threw her phone to the ground causing it to break and threw an energy drink, narrowly missing her.
During their investigation police determined that one week prior, during the course of another argument, the man damaged another phone that belonged to his girlfriend.
The man was held in custody for a bail hearing.
