South Dundas man accused of trying to lure a minor

An SD&G OPP investigation into a report of online crimes which occurred in the Village of Morrisburg led to the arrest of a 38-year-old South Dundas man.

Police said the man has repeatedly attempted to lure a female youth via social media and text messages. When that didn’t work, he made a threat.

Reports indicate that the accused and the victim knew each other.

The man was also in breach of conditions imposed from previous incidents.

He was arrested and charged with luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age, uttering threats, and failure to comply with his probation order.

The accused was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
