CORNWALL, Ontario – Incumbent David McDonald’s reign as the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) trustee for Cornwall (Ward 8) is nowhere near over.

McDonald beat challenger Kevin Brisson, by a count of  3,653 votes to 1,439 with 21 of 22 polls showing.

No results have been posted for Ward 9, which covers Glengarry and Stormont, where William Fielding, Wendy McPherson, and Bradley Nuttley squared off against incumbent Arthur Buckland

Ward 7 (Dundas County) has already been acclaimed by Winchester’s Jeremy Armer, which is currently held by UCDSB board chair and trustee Greg Pietersma, who did not seek re-election.

Incumbent Lise Benoit-Leger (301 votes with 21/22 polls showing) kept her spot, defeating Jules Bourdon (113 votes) and Jean Bedard (89) for the Cornwall and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry seat in the Conseil des ecoles publiques de l’est de l’Ontario.

No results have been posted for the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO) seat for Dundas and Stormont counties. Michael J. Dunne hopes to take it from incumbent Karen McAllister.

Incumbents Ron Eamer and Todd Lalonde were elected by acclamation for the two CDSBEO Cornwall-Glengarry seats.

Jonathan de Serres, Michael Pilon, and Francois Bazinet have also been acclaimed as trustees with the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien.
