Boil water advisory for Glen Walter begins Monday

CORNWALL, Ontario – Residents connected to the Glen Walter Water Treatment System will have to boil their water beginning Monday evening.

South Glengarry township issued a release Friday suggesting repairs to the system will be completed Monday between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. Tuesday.

After that users of the system should boil the water before consuming it.

“This shutdown is necessary in order to complete repairs on the main distribution water line feeding the village of Glen Walter,” said the township. “Once the water is returned to service you must boil your water until further notice. This is just a precaution until all test results are received and clear of any contaminants.”

Residents will be advised when the boil water advisory is lifted.

The township will communicate the lifting of the notification through our website (www.southglengarry.com) and on the portable sign at the water plant as per policy.
