CORNWALL, Ontario – For the second time in under a week, police have called off the search for a 48-year-old Cornwall man.

Gerald Hanley, who was reported missing by Cornwall police on Saturday (Jan. 17) and located on Monday (Jan. 19) by police in Kingston but never returned home, has been found again, this time in Brockville.

Kingston police Staff Sgt. Matt Funnell told Seaway News that Hanley was located in Brockville tonight at 8:35 p.m. in good health and has been removed from the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) as missing.

“Police have been in contact with him and the family has been involved,” said Funnell.

The man was first located at Kingston’s Hilltop Hotel on Princess Street near Sydenham Road.

Funnell added: “Our understanding was that he was fine and he was going back home. But he never arrived, and a new missing persons report was filed. So it ended once, then started again, then ended again really quickly.”
