CORNWALL, Ontario – A Laval man has died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night on Highway 401 eastbound in South Glengarry.

Alain Haddad, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, a 2015 Dodge SUV, driven by a 62-year-old male from Mississauga, Ont., was eastbound when it collided with Haddad’s 2005 Cadillac, forcing it off the roadway, causing it to roll over before coming to rest in the westbound lanes.

The deadly crash happened at about 8:18 p.m.

Police say an adult male passenger in the Cadillac sustained minor injuries, while the driver and two adult female passengers in the SUV were left uninjured.

A section of the westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed to traffic for several hours.

SD&G OPP officers, assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI), continue the investigation.
