Fraud charges laid against local couple

CORNWALL, Ontario – Two Cornwallites are facing several fraud-related charges after police say they used bad cheques to withdraw cash from closed or unknown accounts.

Christopher St. Andre, 46, and Shelley St. Andre, 47, were arrested on Tuesday (April 21).

The woman was charged with nine counts of fraud and the man was charged with four counts of fraud.

Between March 21 and March 27, police allege several bad cheques were deposited into their accounts and money was withdrawn.

The couple attended police headquarters to deal with the matter and were released to appear in court on May 28.

The amount of money the couple allegedly defrauded was not disclosed to the public.

Booze breach

Tania Draganjac, 31, was arrested on Tuesday for breaching her conditional sentence order.

Police allege they attended the woman’s residence and an investigation revealed she had consumed alcohol.

The woman was taken into custody for the breach.
