CORNWALL, Ontario – The Seaway City is celebrating Canada’s 148th birthday in style with 10 hours of free entertainment.

The Maple Leaf will fly high on Wednesday (July 1) in Lamoureux Park as a fun-filled day of activities for families and seniors get underway.

“Whether it is the children’s activities and inflatables area, the musical entertainment in the bandshell, or our annual seniors’ breakfast at the Legion, we get a lot of positive feedback from residents about the event,” said Cornwall Canada Day Committee chair and SDSG MP Guy Lauzon.

The festivities end with a presentation at the bandshell of the Cornwall Senior Citizen of the Year, the singing of O Canada and a major fireworks display overlooking the St. Lawrence River.

According to organizers, the event attracts over 20,000 patriotic guests each year.
