After a couple of years in the making, the SD&G International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM) is finally here, offering a great venue for local musicians to showcase their stuff.

“We’re both pleased and very proud to announce that Glengarry fiddler, Kelli Trottier, and Stormont-born, Nashville entertainer, Greg Hanna, have been booked and confirmed for the IPM main stage,” says Steve Stang , chair of the IPM entertainment committee. “(We have been) committed, from day-one, to draw exclusively from SDG for the IPM entertainment lineup. We wanted to showcase the region and knew we had the depth of talent to pull it off.”

Dozens of local bands and entertainers have been secured for multiple stages and entertainment venues to be held at the event, which is expected to attract 70,000 to 100,000 visitors.

Some of these include Mandee Woods, Graham Greer, Grace Willison, Ruby Tuesday, Sons of Gord, Riding Shotgun, Neil Emberg and Hadrian’s Wall, Joel Massia, Joe Springall, Country Roads, The Delta Hounds, Fridge Full of Empties, Bang on the Ear, Wide Load Escort, Tammy McRae, Arcane Belief, The Countrymen, Mike McAnnany, Bluegrass Junction, Country Road 44, Darwin Thom, Pourquoi Pas, Northwind Bluegrass, Hillbilly Highway, Uncle George and Roger Hamelin, Ron Donnelly, MacLeod Fiddlers, Brigadoons, Pamela Cumming, Eve’s Daughter, The 2 Paddy’s, Concession 23, Brian McGillis Band, Hughie McDonell, and yours truly.
