Canadian army’s top general to be in Cornwall for Remembrance Day ceremony

CORNWALL, Ontario – The Canadian Army has confirmed that its top general will be in Cornwall Wednesday for Remembrance Day ceremonies.

Lieutenant-General Marquis Hainse will also be at the Crysler’s Farm battlefield west of the city at about 9 a.m. before heading east to inspect soldiers with the SD and G Highlanders and taking part in the city’s Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph on Second Street.

The Highlanders, as is tradition, will be marching from the Royal Canadian Legion to the Cenotaph in time for the 11 a.m. service.
