Overnight fire damages popular banquet hall in N. Glengarry

ALEXANDRIA, Ont. – A fire Thursday night heavily damaged the Bonnie Glen Pavilion in North Glengarry.

SD&G OPP were called to investigate at 10:45 p.m.

Officers closed a section of County Road 43, between Marcoux and Lakeshore roads, for around 3.5 hours to traffic as firefighters battled the blaze.

Five fire departments were at the scene until early Friday morning.

SD&G OPP Const. Joel Doiron said the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office, assisted by provincial police, are looking into the cause of the fire.

Bonnie Glen Pavilion owner Michel Diotte was unavailable for comment.

There were no injuries.
