WARRANT, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on March 4th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant for breaching her probation order by not residing at a specified address and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on February 27th, 2014 the youth breached her conditions as she failed to reside at a residence approval by probation. On March 4th, 2014 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT POLICE, ESCAPE LAWFUL CUSTODY, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 4th, 2014 and charged with breaching his probation orders for being out past curfew and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with escape lawful custody and assault police. It is alleged that on March 4th, 2014 police attended Poirier Avenue address in relation to an unwanted person call. On arrival they spotted the man walking on Poirier Avenue and found that the man was out past curfew. Once police had control of the man he freed himself by way of pushing the officer and running away. The man was located a short distance away, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act as the probation orders stem from when the man was a youth.

BREACH

Cornwall, ON – A 42-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 3rd, 2014 and charged with breaching a recognizance for being within 100 meters of someone for which he has conditions to stay away from and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on February 28th, 2014 the man drove by his 36-year-old ex-girlfriend’s house despite being on conditions to keep away. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 3rd, 2014 police attended the man’s residence, took him into custody and charged him accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

Cornwall, ON – Shawna Mitchell, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on March 3rd, 2014 and charged with breaching an undertaking for having failed to attend for prints as directed and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on February 24th, 2014 the woman failed to attend for prints and as a result an investigation ensued. On March 3rd, 2014 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED

Cornwall, ON – Carol Ladouceur, 49 of Green Valley was arrested on March 1st, 2014 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged that on March 1st, 2014 the woman was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the area of South Branch Road and McConnell and charged accordingly. She was later released to attend court on March 18th, 2014.

OVERCOME RESISTANCE, ASSAULT, THEFT UNDER, FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT, BREACHES

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 28th, 2014 and charged with assault, theft under, overcome resistance, forcible confinement and eight counts of breach of probation for failing to keep the peace and being in the possession of alcohol. It is alleged that on two occasions during the month of January the man choked, slapped, pushed his 25-year-old girlfriend and prevented her from leaving the apartment all the while taking her phone from her. Police were later contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 28th, 2014 the man was located by police at a local truck stop. He was taken into custody and during the arrest the man was found to be in possession of a bottle of alcohol. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

PUBLIC INTOXICATION, THREATS, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Cornwall, ON – Shawn Valade, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on March 2nd, 2014 and charged with threats to life and possession of a controlled substance as well as being intoxicated in a public place. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of March 2nd, 2014 police located the intoxicated man at the Nativity Center. He was taken into custody for being intoxicated in a public place and while on rout to police headquarters he threatened the officer’s life and the life of the officer’s family. Once at police headquarters the man was also found to be in possession of a small quantity of marihuana. He was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on March 25th, 2014.

THREATS TO LIFE

Cornwall, ON – A 40-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 4th, 2014 and charged with threats to life. It is alleged that on January 16th, 2014 the man threatened to kill his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 3rd, 2014 the man was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
