A dog-gone shame: Man arrested for stealing pet food

CORNWALL, Ontario - The following case could be viewed as an act of straight thievery or a genuine dog owner's dilemma of steal or starve.

Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS) blotter update.

Police said a man with no fixed address lifted several cans of dog food from a Ninth Street store on July 16.

Aftrer a brief foot chase, police arrested Kevin Simser.

He was already under investigation for outstanding warrants.

The man was charged with with theft under $5000, failing to keep the peace, breach of probation, and a recognizance for failing to notify a change of address.

He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
