WARRANT

CORNWALL, Ontario – Shane Bertand, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 4, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on Sept. 22, 2016 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On Oct. 4, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CORNWALL, Ontario – Katherine Cumming, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on Oc. 4, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman breached her conditional sentence and a warrant was issue for her arrest. On Oct. 4, 2016 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

ASSAULT, MISCHIEF

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Oct. 4, 2016 and charged with three counts of assault and one count of mischief. It is alleged during arguments between June and July, 2016 the man grabbed his wife by the arms and on one occasion damaged her phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 4, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Oct. 4, 2016 and charged with four counts of theft under $5, 000. It is alleged between July and September, 2016 the youth removed property and money from his aunt’s residence and police were contacted to investigate. On Oct. 4, 2016 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
