Avonmore woman accused of assaulting minor

ASSAULT

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on Oct. 26, 2016 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument on Oct. 26, 2016 the man slapped and pushed his 43-year-old girlfriend and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 28-year-old Avonmore woman was arrested on Oct. 26, 2016 and charged with assault. It is alleged during the month of September, 2016 the woman assaulted her boyfriend’s son and police were contacted to investigate. On Oct. 26, 2016 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Nov. 24, 2016. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

CORNWALL, Ontario – Gobinath Sivanathan, 25, of Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 26, 2016 and charged with assault. It is alleged while at a party on Oct. 23, 2016 the man pushed a 24-year-old woman unknown to him down a flight of stairs causing her to seek medical attention. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.

 

MISCHIEF, THREATS, BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – Matthew Burnside, 24, of Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 26, 2016 and charged with threats, mischief and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during a dispute on Oct. 25, 2016 the man threatened a co-worker and pulled the fire alarm as he left the building. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 26, 2016 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
