Cars broken into on Queen St.

THEFT UNDER $5000, TRESPASS BY NIGHT

Cornwall, Ontario – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on Nov. 16, 2016 and charged with theft under $5, 000 and trespass by night. It is alleged in the early morning hours of Nov. 16, 2016 the youth was rummaging through parked vehicles in the area of Queen Street and Susan Avenue. Police were contacted and located the youth in the area. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of stolen property. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, THREATS, MISCHIEF AND FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 19-year-old Chute A Blondeau man was arrested on November 15th, 2016 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, mischief, threats and forcible confinement. It is alleged between April, 2015 and October, 2016 the man assaulted, threatened and prevented his girlfriend from leaving the residence. It is also alleged he damaged furniture during this time. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 15th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, BREACH

Cornwall, ON – Daniel Villeneuve, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on November 15th, 2016 and charged with possession of cocaine, fentanyl and breach of recognizance for being in possession of drugs and a cell phone. It is alleged the man was found to be in possession of cocaine, fentanyl and a cell phone during a traffic stop on November 15th, 2016. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on November 15th, 2016 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged on November 15th, 2016 the woman communicated with her ex-boyfriend despite having been warned by police not to. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON – Lisa Sauve, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on November 16th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the woman was wanted by police for a theft that occurred at a local store on March 27th, 2016. She was taken into custody during a traffic stop and found to be in breach of her recognizance for breaching her curfew. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly for the breach and held for a bail hearing.
