WARRANT
Cornwall, ON- A 17-year-old Ottawa youth was arrested on January 4th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that on November 15th, 2012 the youth failed to attend the police station for fingerprints and a warrant was issued. The youth turn himself in to police and was held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
THEFT & BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- Edward Steptoe, 33 was arrested on January 5th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on December 27th, 2012 he removed property from a 35-year-old acquaintance’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Theft under $5000 and Breach of Probation Order. He was released to appear in court on February 12th, 2013.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT & BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- A 33-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 5th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 4th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 29-year-old girlfriend when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.
THREATS
Cornwall, ON- Dean Pettinella, 33 of Cornwall was arrested on January 6th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 6th, 2013 he uttered a threat to cause harm to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. He was charged with Utter Threat and Breach of Probation Order. He held in custody until court later that day.
SEXUAL ASSAULT & ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 50-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on January 6th, 2013. It is alleged that on January 6th, 2013 he attended his 52-year-old girlfriend residence when he inappropriately touched her and assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Sexual Assault and Assault. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it may identify the victim.
