OVER 80

Cornwall, ON- Shane Turcotte, 21 of Cornwall was arrested at approximately 3:00 am on February 15rd, 2013 when he was allegedly operating a motor vehicle on Sydney St. near Fourth St. while under the influence of alcohol. He provided a sample of his breath which resulted in a charge of Over 80. He was released to appear in court on February 28th, 2013.

 

WARRANT & BREACHES

Cornwall, ON- Ramish Ghafourzadeh, 27 of Laval, QC was arrested on February 13th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. He was bound by a Recognizance with the relevant conditions to not associate or communicate directly or indirectly with certain people or anyone not approved by his surety. It is alleged that on February 12th, while in Montreal he violated his conditions. As a result a warrant was requested and members of the CCPS attended the Bourdeaux Jail and executed the warrant. He was transported to Cornwall where he was held in custody for a bail hearing on February 14th, 2013.

 

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON- Jeffrey Bergeron, 38 of Cornwall was arrested on February 16th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. He was bound by a Recognizance with the relevant conditions and to report in person to the John Howard Society. It is alleged that on February 5th, 2013 and he failed to report. As a result a warrant was requested. On February 16th, the man was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing on February 18th, 2013.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & ASSAULT POLICE

Cornwall, ON- A 43-year-old Cornwall female was arrested on February 16th, 2013. It is alleged that on February 16th, 2013 she got into an altercation with her 43-year-old common-law boyfriend when she assaulted him. He did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. While investigating the female struck an officer; he did not require medical treatment. She was charged with Domestic Assault and assault police officer. She was held in custody and released on a JP’s recognizance the next morning. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

ASSAULT & BREACH

Cornwall, ON- A 36-year-old Glenn Robertson man was arrested on February 18th, 2013. He was bound by a probation order with the relevant conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on February 18th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 34-year-old ex-partner. A 36-year-old male who was at the residence was assaulted by the man. He did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The man was charged with Assault, and Breach of Probation. He was released on a Promise to Appear and an OIC’s undertaking with conditions, with a court date of March 26th, 2013. His name was not released as it may identify the victim in this incident.

 

PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REGARDING ROBBERY

Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Robbery that occurred at approximately 7:30 pm on February 15th, 2013 in the area of First St between Pitt St and Augustus St. Two males approached a 72-year-old female and grabbed her purse and left running east bound on First St. The victim did not suffer any injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed.

The suspects are described as Caucasian male, average height, wearing dark clothing; one male had a grey hood.

If you carry a purse, place the strap diagonally across your body.

If someone grabs your purse, do not resist.

If you can, avoid being alone, bring a friend to accompany you.
