CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

Cornwall, ON- A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 28th, 2013. It is alleged that between January 11th and 19th, 2013 he continuously harassed his 33-year-old ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Criminal Harassment and released to appear in court on April 9th, 2013. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

Cornwall, ON- Albert Crawford, 40 of Cornwall was arrested on February 28th, 2013. It is alleged that between July 2012 and February 25th, 2013 he continuously harassed a 23-year-old female stranger. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Criminal Harassment and released to appear in court on April 11th, 2013.

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT & BREACH

Cornwall, ON- A 45-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 28th, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on February 25th, 2013 he got into an altercation with his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Domestic Assault and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on March 19th, 2013. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

 

WARRANT

Cornwall, ON- Stepha Franklin, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on February 28th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. He was bound by 2 Probation Orders with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on November 10th, 2012 he got into an altercation with a 15-year-old male when he assaulted him with a rock. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Aggravated Assault and Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court the following day.

 

DRUGS & BREACH

Cornwall, ON- Matthieu Brunet, 20 of Cornwall was arrested during the early hours on March 1st, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the relevant conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol absolutely or be found anywhere where alcohol is sold save restaurants, and to abstain from the possession of any drug or narcotic listed in the Schedules of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act. It is alleged that he was located at a local establishment by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service and found to be in possession of a control substance believed to be crack cocaine. He was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance- crack cocaine, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was held in custody until court later that day.

 

ROBBERY & BREACHES

Cornwall, ON- Christopher Benedict, 32 of Akwesasne was arrested on March 1st, 2012. He was bound by a Conditional Sentence Order with the relevant condition of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was also bound by a Recognizance with the relevant conditions, keep the peace and be of good behaviour, be at his address in Akwesasne, Ontario between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., except for work purposes, formally abstain from consuming any alcoholic beverages, having in his possession or using drugs or other controlled substances, and having in his possession or carrying for any purpose whatsoever offensive or restricted use weapons or imitation weapons. It is alleged that on March 1st, 2013 shortly after 2:15 a.m., he attended a Fourteenth Street West convenience store and demanded money while indicating that he had a concealed weapon. He fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes. The 41-year-old convenience store clerk was not injured. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was located under the influence of alcohol and drugs and charged with Robbery with firearm, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and 5 counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He was held in custody until court later that day.
