Ontario Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty visited SD&SG Liberal Candidate Mark MacDonald's office on October 1 to discuss clean energy, health care, employment and education. Amongst a large crowd, including Cornwall Mayor Bob Kilger and a few city councillors, McGuinty said the Liberal government has created and will continue to maintain Ontario as "the best province in the greatest country in the world."
McGuinty also gave his vote of confidence to MacDonald and so did Kilger. "As we go into the most important week of the campaign, next Thursday the people of Stormont, Dundas & South Glengarry are going to send Mark MacDonald to Queen's Park. And next Thursday the people of Stormont, Dundas & South Glengarry will reconfirm a renewed mandate for the Premier of the Province of Ontario, Dalton McGuinty."
Wife his daughter and wife by his side, McGuinty said the Liberals will cut tuition by 30 per cent for low and middle income families and stated contrary to Tim Hudak's Conservative party, the Liberals will support Ontarians. "If you want somebody who is in your corner, that's the Ontario Liberal Party."
Election Day is October 6 and voters will have until 9 p.m. to cast their ballot. In SD&SG, the candidates are NDP Elaine, MacDonald, Liberal Mark MacDonald, Progressive Conservative Jim McDonell, Green Justin Reist and Libertarian Darcy Neal Donnelly.
