Dear Editor,
The truth has finally leaked out. All this talk about water meters. It’s not about service, it’s all about profits. Punishments, not rewards. It’s not about the costs of cleaning it, delivering it. They want one million dollars (actually 1.4 million) saved each year for the next four years to help pay for our part of the cost for the new bridge.
Since there is no funding earmarked for the project, they will reallocate funds collected through the water and sewer budget.
That means water and sewer taxing will increase by 1.4 million a year. Water meters (in my opinion) are unnecessary, but again, we are the “Eskimos being sold snow.”
Can’t wait until they tax the air we breathe.
