Choosing to be an isolationist is not a very smart move to make! Preferring to be a loner over against being a friend is not very wise when you seriously consider the many perils of life on this earth. Electing to live life solo-style is rather presumptuous and most definitely dangerous! Now when a person chooses to become a follower of Jesus Christ by personal repentance and trust in Him, it is only prudent to find other believers with whom one can worship together, pray together, learn together, serve together, and fellowship together. Let me state the importance of identifying with a local body of believers in three potent points. Point # 1- You cannot know God fully apart from Christian community. Others who love the Lord are an essential factor in and encouraging catalyst to one’s own growth in the knowledge of God. You learn so much more in the context of fellowship. Point # 2 – You cannot become like Christ apart from Christian community. The process of becoming more like Jesus in His holy character is greatly advanced in the company of fellow pilgrims relating together. Point # 3 – You cannot impact the world apart from Christian community. Believers in Christ have the biggest impact in society as salt and light when they serve and work as a cohesive, cooperative team. There are more reasons I’m sure but these three are sufficient for now. So don’t travel all alone spiritually. Keep in close step with other committed comrads!
