Many of us are great fans of Chocolate... it mixes well with so many different other ingredients. In a word, it's SUPER yummy! Here's an other recipe from my grandmother, it's simple, freezes well and it's quite scrumptious! (oh, and kids love to help making these).
Old Fashion Chocolate Cookies
You will need:
1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of white sugar
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
2 tsp. of baking powder
1/2 tsp. of baking powder
1/2 tsp. of salt
1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of unsweetened cocos powder
1 cup of milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift together the remainder of the ingredients (minus the milk). Alternate the dry mixture and milk and combine well into the butter-sugar mixture.
Scoop in 1" balls onto a greased cookie sheet with 2" between each scoop. Cook for about 10-12 minutes (check at 8 minutes).
You can also make this glaze icing for these cookies:
Bring to a boil 6 tbs. of milk or cream, remove from heat and mix in 5 tbs. of butter, 1/2 tsp. of vanilla and 2 cups of icing sugar. You can drizzle this icing onto the top of each cookie or use it as a glue to make cookie sandwiches.
