McCORMICK – Leslie J.

Passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the age of 87 years. (Retired teacher with the SD&G Roman Catholic Separate School Board). Predeceased by his wife Lucille Senecal. Survived by his two sons, Terrence McCormick (Kathy) of Long Sault and David McCormick (Valerie) of Cornwall. Sadly missed by 7 grandchildren Laleah, Meghann, Courtney, Shane, Amy, Tara, and Kathleen and by 7 great-grandchildren Alexandra, Isabella, Augusta, Sebastian, Torrie, Haevyn, and Harley. Predeceased by his parents Daniel C. McCormick and Florence O’Byrne, sisters Dorothy (Mrs. Percy Hickson), Rita (Mrs. Ted Hill), Hazel (Mrs. Leslie McCrank) and brothers Freddie and Lawrence. Funeral took place on Monday, December 15 at St. Francis de Sales Church. Rite of Committal at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

GOULD – Lily (Barlow)

Passed away at Chateau Gardens, Lancaster on Monday, December 8, 2008 at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of the late William Ross Gould. Dear mother of Anne Campeau (Robert), Judy Walbridge, Sheila Gould and Dallas Gould (Julie). Sadly missed by 6 grandchildren, Scott (Amy), Cindy (Mike), Heather, Eric (Brandie), Alan (Toni) and Eric (Angie) and 8 great-grandchildren, Evey, Brodie, Ronan, Christopher, Aislym Josée, Skylar and Sophie. Also survived by one sister Vera Turvey. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth (Sherbourne) Barlow, 2 brothers Clifford and Sam and by 1 sister Dolly. Funeral took place on Thursday, December 11. Reverend Andrea Harrison of St. Andrews Unite Church, Williamstown officiated. Committal in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery.

Finke – Anita (Russing)

Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Monday, December 8, 2008 at the age of 73 years. Loving wife of 53 years, Heinz Finke. Dear mother of Petra Murphy (Michael) of Kirkland, Quebec and Michael Finke (Sherry Deschamps) of Blainville, Quebec. Sadly missed by 4 grandchildren, Megan, Shauna, Mandy and Monica. Predeceased by her parents August and Lucie (Kirachey) Russing. Committal held at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault.

Passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008. Beloved wife of Brian. Cherished mother of Carolynne Oakes (son Kevin) and Jarrod (Makayla) Gaucher. Dear daughter of Arnold and Teresa Pelkey. Greatly missed by her grandchildren Timmy, Casey, Shayla, Briana, Morgan, Riley and Matthew. Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital – McConnell Site on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at the age of 69 years. (Former teacher at Tagwi and St. Joseph’s Secondary School). Beloved husband of Diane Currier (Carriere) and by a previous marriage the late Jane Tyo for 30 years. Dear father of Laurie Branchaud (Charles), Cornwall and Michael (Leanne) of Carleton Place. Stepfather of Daniel Jones (Nathalie) of St. Lazare, Quebec and Tanya Leason (Danny) of Kanata. Cherished grandfather of Brianna, Nathaniel, Gabriel, Alexis, Rose, Sam and Sydney. Also missed by Damon and Gunner. Predeceased by his parents George and Olga (Hankiewich) Iwachniuk. Dear brother of the late Joseph Iwachniuk (Loretta). Loving father of Brigid Vandermey (late Rob) of Ottawa, Denis Desjardins of Bejing, China and Marc Desjardins (Sue) of Boston, Massachusetts. Cherished grandfather of Jacob and Nicole. Dear son of the late Eugene Desjardins and the late Odanna (Lapalme) Desjardins. Dear brother of Lucien Desjardins (Jacqueline) and Thérèse Brisson (late Arthur) both of Sudbury, Guy Desjardins of Barrie, Archie Desjardins (late Pauline), Jacqueline Dubé (late Rolland) and Gaetanne Desjardins all of Cornwall and Rita Clackett (Ron) of Killaloe, ON. Mrs. Viola Isabell Hope (née McDonald) of Alexandria, formerly of Glen Robertson, age 96 years. Beloved wife of the late George J. Hope. Dear sister of Irene MacLeod (late Linton) of Long Sault, Ontario and sister-in-law of Angus Wallace Hope (Helen) of Alexandria, Theona Hope (late Stewart) of Morrisburg and Geraldine Hope (late Calvin) of Cornwall, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents, John Daniel Dougald McDonald and Mary Ellen O’Brien, four sisters, Theresa Fraser, Lila Wood, Carmel Varley and Jean MacCosham and by four brothers, Ambrose, Vincent, Jack and Norman McDonald. Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, age 91 years. He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Christina (Thompson) McCourt. Dear father of Joan Masterson (Leonard), Grace Burns, Bruce (Brenda), Jack (Linda), Jeff (Brenda), James (Lisa) and John (Carolin). Sadly missed by 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Survived by 2 brothers, Ren (Mildred), Pat (Jeannine) and 2 sisters, Janet McCourt and Kathleen McCuaig. Predeceased by his parents, Bruce and Elizabeth (Atchison) McCourt and two sisters, Mildred Morin and Mary Jane McDonald. Passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008. Mr. Helen Gordon (née Larocque), age 82 years. Predeceased by her husband, Sydney in 1995. Survived by her 10 children, Brenda (Beth), Bryan (Rachaël), Cathy (late Grant Buck), Barry (Kelly Bergeron), Cindy (Ian McIntyre), Bradley (Lynn), Christopher (Jani Pilon), Christine (John Gauthier), Carol (Murray MacDonald) and Carrie (Thomas Hodd). Devoted grandmother to David, Fearon and Shannon Buck, Crystal and Ashley Gordon, Matthew and Amanda Gordon and Samuel and Jeremy Hodd.
