GRANT, Lionel Kennedy - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lionel of Rosedale Terrace on March 4th, 2013, age of 82 at his residence with his family by his side. President and co- founder of Cornwall Gravel and Grant Ready Mix. Lionel was past President of the Cornwall Club, Cornwall Shrine Club and past vice chairman of Shriners Hospitals for Children and Via Rail Board Member. Lionel showed great courage and strength throughout his life. He demonstrated strong family values, gentleness and humour and encouraged these qualities in his family, who both admired and loved him deeply. Lionel enjoyed every moment of his life and was well-known for his fun-loving personality and his love of Scottish music. His story- telling abilities are fondly remembered by his friends and family. Whether it was getting together with fellow Shriners, hunters, attending family parties, trips to Pompano Beach with great friends, or morning coffee with his Tim buddies, he was a sociable, loving friend and family man. His humble beginnings and business accomplishments allowed Lionel to become a mentor to his children and grandchildren, teaching them how to be compassionate yet strong, determined and to strive for their goals. He will be sadly missed by all, but his legacy will live on through his network of friends, associates and, most importantly, his family. He leaves his loving wife and best friend of 60 years, Norma (Stephenson) Grant. Loving father of Susan (Dave) Alguire, David (Carole), Cathy (Michelle) and Peter (Tammie). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Crystal (Adam), Angie (Rich), Allison (Jarrett), Doug, Jason (Terrelyn), Jennifer (Travis), Chelsea, Jordan, Laurel, Alec, Seth, Corrie (Joey) and 4 great grandchildren: Logan, Parker, Shane and Oliver. Predeceased by his parents Ivan and Nora (Routhier) Grant and brother Norvan Grant. Survived by dear sister Dawn Ann (Larry) Faris of Brockville and caring sister-in-law Sally of Cornwall. DIXON, Ivan Stewart - Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital - McConnell Site on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the age of 59 years. Loving husband of the late Carol (née Gagan) Dixon. Friend of Sue Dickenson of Cornwall. Dear father of Sara and Jennifer of Cornwall, as well as Lance and Danielle from a previous relationship. Also survived by six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Pat Gibbons (Dale), Newington; Cheryl Dixon, Kingston; and Kelly Dixon (Shelley), Cornwall. Predeceased by his parents Rene and Margaret (née Laverty) Dixon; brothers John (Joan) and Rick Dixon; and by his infant daughter Amy.
