MYERS, Dwayne Lyle - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at St, Mary’s Hospital in Seashell, BC. Dwayne Myers of Gibsons, BC, age 59 years, after a short battle with cancer. Loving husband of Theresa (Terry) Lapierre, his pals Ruby, Barley and Ray Ray. Dear son of Ford Myers (late Gertrude Paquette). Brother of Diane Furniss (Robert) of Long Sault, Dale Myers (Tina) of Winchester, Karen Myers of Cornwall and Glenn Myers (Trish) of Colwood, BC. Loving uncle of Chad (Christine), Ryan (Andrea), D’Arcy (Elissa), Melina (Marty), Kristin (Edwin), Kelsea (Ryan) and Sheldon (Lee Ann). Great-uncle of Greyson, Malcolm, Tyler and Nora. He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dwayne will always be remembered for his big heart, his great cooking and always lending a helping hand to others. He lived his life to the fullest, enjoying every day like there was no tomorrow. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. We will miss him dearly. Ford Myers and Family.
REDMOND, Vincent - Passed away at the Cornwall Community Hospital - McConnell Site on Sunday, March 10, 2013, age 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Redmond (née Adams). Father of Michael (Glenna) and Shaun, both of Cornwall. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Anathalie, Patrick, Allison, Ryan and great-grandchildren Ella, Lilly, Charlotte, Makayla, Rory and Brayden. Also survived by his special friend and companion Marguerite White, her daughter Colleen White and grandson Braeden Lamano. Predeceased by his parents James "Paddy" and Margaret (née Burns) Redmond, his brother James and sister May Brown. Vince was active in his life and community in many aspects. Notably as Founder of Redmond Insurance Brokers, Cornwall; in active service to his country in the RCAF - Air Force Police for 25 years; Knight of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta; Past President of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario; Past Executive Director of the Canadian Federation of Insurance Agents and Brokers Association; Past President of Cornwall Service Club Council; Past President and Campaign Chair of the Heart and Stroke Foundation; past President of the Cornwall Chapter of the Canadian Red Cross; Member of the Royal Canadian Legion; Past President of the Cornwall Club and many other organizations. Resting at the WILSON FUNERAL HOME, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell will be celebrated in St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 11am. Rite of Committal at a later date in Precious Blood Parish Cemetery, Glen Walter.
