CORNWALL, Ontario - A local minor hockey association is collecting money for a Cornwall faily grappling with cancer.
Young Madison Primeau is battling brain cancer and has been forced to shelve plans to play hockey this season.
But members of the Cornwall Girls Hockey Association, including the Typhoons team, are collecting money to offset expenses the Primeau family has incurred via trips to Ottawa and a reduced income.
A fundraising game is planned for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Benson Centre in Cornwall.
"We are asking that those individuals interested in participating take the time to register. A donation form will be provided for each individual," said CGHA president Rod McLeod. "Those wishing to donate without soliciting are certainly welcome. As an association we would like to raise a minimum amount of $1,000."
Donations will also be accepted at the door, as well the association will be asking the public to donate at least two non-perishable goods to be collected and then delivered to the Agape Center.
