CORNWALL, Ontario - What's a local wrestling show without some local wrestlers? The answer, according to local promoter Joe Dunlap: not much.
It's why he has added some local faces to the bill for "Brawl at Nativity Hall" - a wrestling fan's dream that will take place Nov. 9.
The show includes local fan favourites Randy "The Rage" Berry and Tyler Ackerman.
"The involvement of the local guys is to show Cornwall that we're bringing it to another level," said Dunlap, general manager of CGPW and Mecca-Pro Wrestling.
Dunlap had been trying to years to secure permission to host his all-ages show at Nativity Hall.
“We had a hard time getting in there”, said Dunlap, “Our perseverance and persistence was ultimately our strong point, we never gave up, we would just keep going and going, asking and asking, hoping one day the answer would change."
The event is being televised by TV Cogeco and is sponsored by TC Media.
The eight-match event includes two main events. Main event one will feature The American Barbarian in the ring to defend the CGPW World Heavyweight Championship against contender Big Dave Titan.
The second main event will feature CGPW veteran Damian Styles lock up with Berry in a special grudge match.
