CORNWALL, Ontario - The good news about this street hockey tournament is you won't have to worry about having to stop and yell: "Car!"
Santa's Street Hockey Tournament will take place on Red Saturday, Nov. 16, when businesses in Cornwall's downtown will try to create the feel of "Black Friday" with sales and promotions surrounding the holidays.
The hockey tournament will take place on Pitt Street between First and Third streets. The street will be closed to allow plenty of three-on-three hockey action.
"I don't think it's ever happened downtown like this before," said event co-chair Robin McIntosh. "It's pretty unique."
The street will be closed at 6 a.m. and will reopen after the annual Santa Claus parade passes downtown later that evening.
The tournament is free to enter and a roster of children ages seven to 12 should include four players, as well as an adult supervisor.

The event is sponsored by the Downtown Business Improvement Association, Kinsmen Club of Cornwall, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 and the Cornwall Police Association.
