CORNWALL, Ontario - Join in on the celebration before the city's fastest racing lane buckles you in for the season.

The Cornwall Motor Speedway is inviting motorheads as well as the community to the Race & Rock Party on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Army Navy and Air Force Club, at 7:00 p.m.
The fundraising event will give race car fanatics their fix until the Speedway revs up for another fast-paced season.
"It's a mid-winter break for the fans that haven’t been to the races in a few months," said Brian Mulligan, Cornwall Motor Speedway announcer/marketer.
For the fast and furious type there's a special viewing of last season's races and footage from CBS Sports guaranteed to star your engine. And with $1,000 in door prizes, a DJ, an Elvis impersonator, plus a light lunch there's something for everyone.
"The nice thing about the videos is they also feature supporting classes, so local drivers can see themselves on film," he said.
Tickets are $10 and all proceeds go towards buying new bicycles for the Cornwall Motor Speedway's Kid's Club.
"They're our fans of tomorrow," said Mulligan.
Many of the club's 300 members (kids under 12) start racing on the Speedway's Go Kart track and end up zooming in a headlining class during their late teens.
